Cycling one of the best climbs of Tuscany with my guided bike tours
Today I enjoyed cycling in one of the best climbs of Tuscany.
A short walk from Pisa and Livorno there is a forest with a sea view, is the Benedetta Valley.
It is a not very demanding route that can be pedaled with a carbon racing bike but also with mtb or e-bike, bike rental available.
My tours in the coast of Tuscany are customizable according to the interests and the degree of athletic preparation and the time available to customers, we will choose together the places, the length and difficulty of our tour.
Here I’ll tell you about my excursion today.
I started from the city, from the sea.
After riding the promenade I reached the natural park of the hills of Livorno cycling along secondary residential streets without traffic.
From here I cycled the valley along the Rio Popogna I crossed roads in the shade of stretches of forest, hairpin bends with Mediterranean vegetation until I reached a viewpoint at about 350 meters above sea level from which I admired the sea and the islands of the Tuscan coast.
I continued by creating a loop coming back from a parallel road that crossed a more wooded and less Mediterranean vegetation with some points of interest such as the astronomical observatory.
